Welcome to West Palms!
Summer break is quickly coming to a close, and we are thrilled to welcome students back to campus! Our staff eagerly anticipates reconnecting with returning students and warmly welcoming those who are new to our West Palms family.
At West Palms Conservatory, we consistently reflect on our Vision, which guides everything we do:
“The vision of West Palms is to develop students who have the academic skills and social-emotional health to become confident, empowered, lifelong learners with an appreciation for the arts.”
To achieve this vision, our Mission clearly outlines how we plan to make it a reality:
“West Palms will develop students with the academic skills and social-emotional health needed to become confident, empowered, lifelong learners with an appreciation for the arts by providing rigorous academic instruction, purposeful and intensive interventions, and intentionally exposing students to diverse forms of visual and performing arts.”
As we launch the new school year, we remain dedicated to our mission. Our teaching staff will participate in a full day of professional development focused on enhancing vocabulary instruction to boost reading comprehension. Additionally, we will dedicate considerable attention to refining our literacy intervention strategies, ensuring we meet every student at their academic level and support their continued growth.
West Palms also remains committed to supporting our students’ social-emotional well-being. We are proud to continue our partnerships with community agencies such as DMCC/SLEPA and Inner Peace, along with our own in-house counseling services provided by our school psychologist. Also, teachers will place a strong emphasis on Social-Emotional Learning, ensuring every student starts the school year feeling secure, supported, and ready for success.
We are excited that Mr. Arvinger will once again offer Musical Theater classes twice weekly, with performances scheduled for Winter and/or Spring, depending on grade levels. Additionally, our elective classes—primarily focused on visual and performing arts—will be offered three times per week, Tuesday through Thursday, beginning on September 2nd. We are also excited to announce that our "Meet the Masters" program will feature the renowned artists Paul Klee, Gauguin, M.C. Escher, and Jacob Lawrence, whose styles students will explore and emulate through engaging art projects.
Your partnership remains vital as we work together to achieve our goals. Ensuring your child attends school regularly and punctually, supporting academic growth at home—such as encouraging daily reading—and reinforcing appropriate behavior are crucial ways you help propel our school forward. Truly, it takes the entire crew to sail this ship to success, and we are grateful for your indispensable role alongside the West Palms Conservatory staff.
Thank you for your continued support and trust—we look forward to an exceptional year ahead!
Kind regards,
Sean Redmond, Ed.D.
