West Palm's Focus

West Palm's Focus
All throughout the campus at West Palms Conservatory you will find displays of student’s artwork. As the majority of the day is dedicated to curriculum, the school finds its focus in visual and performing arts by implementing special electives that students are able to choose from. Monday through Thursday for one hour each day the students fill their time with their individual passions. These range from learning how to play the violin, different instruments for a bluegrass following, robotics, computer coding, learning new languages such as Spanish and French, different art classes that include: sketching, oils, mural, and painting, as well as drama class and even yoga!
Mrs. Lester says the dynamics of implementing the concept of visual and performing arts teaches the students discipline and self-control, while allowing the students to express themselves through their art. “You can really see that in the projects the students create,” she adds. Additionally, the programs at West Palms help build relationships between students and teachers. At West Palms students are able to be taken out of the traditional academic environment and allow their creativity to flow, doing things not only the students love, but the teachers as well. Mrs. Lester herself has even taken up learning how to play the violin.
Here at West Palms the possibilities for students to explore their passions for the arts are endless.
